The Dickson County Help Center is proud to be part of a trailblazing new initiative to support families by taking a family-centered approach to obtaining goals that may only seem beyond their reach. 

Along with 32 other organizations across Middle Tennessee, the Our ChanceTN initiative aims to help families understand and combat the “benefits cliff,” the sudden and often unexpected decrease in public benefits that can occur with a slight increase in earnings.

A part of the TN Alliance for Economic Mobility (TAEM), Our Chance creates a unique support system for caregivers by providing coaching and financial counseling to help increase income and provide peace of mind when it comes time for them to enter the workforce.

Through the initiative, we have provided financial support to these families to help their caregivers overcome the barriers of increased employment, such as rent, utilities, childcare, car repairs, 

educational needs, and fees.
