The Financial Assistance Program of the Dickson County Help Center provides critical aid to Dickson County residents facing financial distress due to unexpected life events such as illness, job loss, or family crises. Our financial assistance services are designed to help those who are struggling to cover essential costs, including rent, utilities, and other urgent needs such as clothing, medication, and transportation.
We understand that low wages, single parenthood, or sudden emergencies can significantly impact one's financial stability, and we are here to offer a helping hand to navigate these challenges. We are committed to providing support to our community members in regaining their footing during difficult times, with a focus on faith, hope, love, and dignity.

The Dickson County Help Center assists with rent, utilities, medication, clothing, automotive repair, and homeless support, including short-term hotel stays, bus tickets, or gas for travel. Payments are made directly to the biller, ensuring transparency and proper allocation of funds.
To apply for utility assistance, you must provide your most recent bill or a cut-off notice. If the bill is not in your name, a signed statement from the bill holder is required. For prepaid accounts, a current "My Usage" statement from Dickson Electric Service is necessary.
You must present a lease or mortgage statement and a late notice to apply for rental or mortgage assistance.
You can receive help with maintenance medications needed for conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol. You must provide a current prescription. Assistance is not available for pain medications, controlled substances, or narcotics.
You must present an official document that shows your address in Dickson County, such as a utility bill, lease, driver's license, state identification, or any similar document.
You must provide proof of income, including a recent pay stub, SSI-disability letter, tax return from the past year, bank statement, letter from your employer, Social Security letter, or copies of checks.
Acceptable forms of personal identification include a valid and current driver's license, state identification, passport, photo work ID, photo student ID, or an IRS-issued W7 card.
The Help Center does not assist with cell phone service, car payments, furniture payments, or medications classified as pain medications, controlled substances, or narcotics.
Consider contributing as little or as much as you can. Every dollar you donate helps provide food and utilities to men, women, and children in our community.
